The Function Of Cold Cylinder For Paper Industry

The paper out of dryer, and the water content is often 4~6%. And the temperature is 70~90 degrees centigrade. 

The drying is not conducive to the operation of calendering, so at the end of the drying section set the cold cylinder, on the one hand the paper cooling (down to 50~55 DEG C), on the other hand the paper back to the low temperature, the drying section of the water vapor in the cold cylinder surface condensation, condensation water can wet the paper surface to facilitate to obtain better surface smoothness in the finishing process. 

In addition, the cooling and moistening of the paper can also eliminate the static electricity of the paper.

Structure Characteristics Of Cold Cylinder For Paper Industry

Generally, a cold cylinder can be arranged on the position of the last two cylinders of the drying part to improve the moisture content of the net surface of the paper wire, and the smoothness of the wire surface after the calendering is improved.

The cold cylinder is cooled by means of cold water. Through a 35~40mm diameter pipe, the cold water enters into the cylinder from  the axial direction and spray evenly to the wall. The warm water after heat absorption can be drained by siphon in the high-speed paper machine. 

In order to avoid the iron cylinder surface rust, cylinder surface can be added a layer of copper or spray metal plating method of plating a layer of 2.0~2.5mm stainless steel.
